This Learning Path, facilitated by Jay McTighe, co-author of Understanding by Design® (UbD), provides participants with information about the role and development of Essential Questions (EQs) and how they fit into the context of curriculum development. Participants will also distinguish between, and identify, knowledge and skills—what students should know and be able to do.
Learning Path Outcomes:
- Examine the role of Essential Questions as part of the UbD curriculum design process;
- Discover the multiple characteristics of Essential Questions;
- Explore different types of questions and discover ways to develop EQs; and
- Learn and understand the difference between knowledge and skills.
