This learning path explores the practice of utilizing Student Learning Objectives to improve teaching practices and increase student achievement. In this Learning Path, you will design, build, and assess Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) for use in guiding instruction and determining student mastery and/or growth as part of the Pennsylvania Educator Effectiveness Model.
Learning Path Outcomes:
- Learn the definition and components of Student Learning Objectives and the SLO process.
- Develop a broad learning Goal Statement from specific standards;
- Analyze assessments to make sure the tools are an accurate measure of the goal.
- Understand that the purpose of the Student Learning Objective is for communication about the teacher’s impact on student growth and is part of their overall evaluation.
