How The Gifted Brain Learns (Winter 2020)



This course provides a professional learning community an opportunity to study How The Gifted Brain Learns by Dr. David Sousa. This is critical information for administrators, Gifted Intervention Specialists, General Ed Teachers serving Gifted Students as well as the Special Ed teacher serving twice exceptional children. Participants will work through the online syllabus at their own pace and post to discussions, respond to open-ended questions through web 2.0 interactive tools, and support each other as they embed their new learning into their classroom setting. Winter Cohort begins January 2, 2020 and runs through March 1, 2020. 

*Must obtain How the Gifted Brain Learns by David A. Sousa, 2nd edition to complete course.


Learning Path Outcomes:
  • Examine the curricular and instructional strategies that are challenging to the Gifted Brain.
  • Identify causes and strategies to reverse underachievement.
  • Understand the twice exceptional brain, and the challenges of those who are talented in Math, Language and Art.
